Erin King

Erin King

Erin King is a passionate attorney who has dedicated her career to standing up for those who need a voice, particularly teens and young adults navigating the justice system. Originally from Rome, Georgia, Erin’s commitment to helping others was clear from the start. After graduating with honors in History and Secondary Education from Berry College in 2012, she began teaching “at-risk” high school students in rural Georgia. This experience opened her eyes to the inequities in the criminal justice system and inspired her to pursue a legal career to protect the rights of the vulnerable and unjustly accused.

Motivated to make a difference, Erin earned her law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall School of Law, graduating with honors in 2016. While in law school, Erin gained invaluable experience interning with the Metro Conflict Defender’s Office in Fulton County, handling complex felony cases and discovering her passion for holding the government accountable. She also led the Street Law Program, where she brought criminal law education to high school classrooms, mentoring students as they competed in mock trial competitions at the federal courthouse in Atlanta.

That experience allowed me to feel most grounded while also being in a classroom setting working with teenagers who weren’t used to having that kind of support and so that honestly kept me in law school.

Erin has since built a reputation for her aggressive and proactive approach to defense, representing clients facing allegations ranging from DUIs and drug offenses to sexual assault and domestic violence. Her work extends beyond the courtroom, advocating for incarcerated clients in post-conviction cases to ensure they receive adequate representation and proper care.

I think this work is compelling because we have an opportunity to help young people who may have made mistakes in their lives while also making sure they have an opportunity to not get back into the system. The hope is that they can really become productive members of society going forward…

Now a proud member of the team at Ghanouni Teen and Young Adult Defense Firm, Erin remains focused on empowering young clients and their families through compassionate, skilled legal representation. Her meticulous preparation and unwavering commitment to justice ensure every client’s rights are protected, and every case receives the personalized attention it deserves.

When I started practicing, I wish I knew how important the emotional experience is for the client, and how to be present for it. Today, I feel that is one of my strongest traits in my work with clients – bringing both compassion and empathy into the fold. Overall, I genuinely want them to be successful, not only in their case, but in life beyond our work with them.
